For those occasions when your mail server goes offline or your Internet connection fails mailMX provides Backup MX/Secondary MX for your domain. Whilst your server is inaccessible inbound email is stored for up to 7 days, avoiding your customers receiving bounce messages (NDRs). This ensures that no business critical email is lost, shortly after your mail server comes back online we will automatically deliver queued email. This service is compatible with mail servers including Exchange.

The service is provided via Dual Data centres located within the UK to ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability of email delivery. Our load balanced mailFeed platform is managed by our team of in-house experts to ensure a no compromises experience.

What is mailMX?

mailMX is a managed backup MX service with integrated antispam and antispam. Compatible with on-premise and cloud hosted email to provide protection in the event your primary mail server is offline. Designed and supported by our in-house team of email experts.

Is mailMX compatible with Exchange?

mailMX is standards compliant so will work with all compliant mail servers including Microsoft Exchange, SmarterMail, Exim and Postfix to name just a few.

Do I require a static IP address?

The mailMX service can deliver email to a Static IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). The FQDN may resolve to a fixed IP address or be dynamically updated. mailMX Max requires your mail server to have a static IP due to the unlimited domain feature.

How long does the service take to provision?

As part of our strict antispam policy we review all mailMX orders to prevent misuse so activation is up to 1 working day, though typically it is within a few working hours.

Do we have to send outbound email via iridis?

No, mailMX compliments your existing mail flow so works in tandem with your current outbound mail flow. iridis provide the mailRelay for reliable outbound delivery as an optional add-on.
